Our History

Our History

Throttlestop Motorsports is a culmination of all things motorcycle and two-wheeled. From our industry-trained technicians to the high-tech tools used to make your motorcycle the best it can be, Throttlestop Motorsports is your one-stop for service, sales, restoration, and more. Vintage motorcycles are becoming harder and harder to repair, maintain, sell, and buy so we set out to change that from the ground up.

With our motorcycle museum full of decades-old running motorcycles, we realized the challenge most like-minded people have in finding parts and services for them. We aim to offer an experience unparalleled in the vintage motorcycle market, one that provides guidance through each step of the process, hands-on help where needed, and a finished product that is sure to leave you grinning from ear to ear. Let us help you on your way to finishing that project, turning that “old bike out back” into profit, or finding you that bike you’ve wanted since childhood. Throttlestop Motorsports is the Midwest’s Vintage Motorcycle Experts.

Our Team

In 2021 the team at the Throttlestop in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin made a decision to look internally for a solution to keeping this passion, Vintage Motorcycles, around for the next generations to enjoy and learn about. First, Throttlestop Motorsports found and hired our in-house motorcycle technician. Ryan Luft has a history of restoring and servicing vintage motorcycles dating back to his days in high school. Studying at MMI in Phoenix, AZ, and obtaining his various certifications in Factory Honda, and Factory BMW, coupled with his love and passion for motorcycles made Ryan an instant fit with the Throttlestop and our team of passion-driven employees. Ryan has successfully restored show-winning Ariel’s, magazine-centerfold Ducati’s, and breath-taking Triumphs, no stone is left unturned in his mind, and every painstaking detail matters.

From there, finishing the rest of the team was easy, Joe our expert detailer had already been working internally to correctively restore more than the 175 motorcycles on display in the museum. Joe has intricately detailed and refinished motorcycles and automobiles that have been seen around the world in various videos, magazine publications, and books. Nothing can ever be too perfect for Joe, often judging finishes in numbered percentages rather than by looks alone.

Lastly, pulling this group together has been Nic Piekarski, the team’s General Manager, and General Manager of the Throttlestop. Vintage Motorcycles have been his passion for decades and it shows in the drive and focus he has in creating this small but talented team of like-minded individuals. A team of like-minded individuals that creates these living, breathing pieces of motorcycle extraordinaire. A team who can create, restore, detail, refinish, or maintain your bike in nearly any way you can dream of. A team that in 2022, became Throttlestop Motorsports.

Needed new tires on my 999 and ended up with a detail as well. Everyone there is knowledgeable and super friendly. Ryan was on point and knows his cycles. Detail job made a 2003 look new again. Definitely will be coming back!
